Hypergeography - a virtual overlapping of geographies by Joe Hamilton, a virtual tumblr-specific experience that creates a “hypergeography” in a holographic hyperreality. It explores the space and the connectivity between manmade and natural environments and their amalgamation in the melting pot of virtual culture as an infinite scrolling loop of what appears to be one seamless manipulation/collage.
"What in the history of thought may be seen as a confusion or an over-lapping is often the precise moment of the dramatic impulse, since it is because the meanings and the experiences are uncertain and complex that the dramatic mode is more powerful, includes more, than could any narrative or exposition: not the abstracted order, though its forms are still present, but at once the order, the known meanings, and that experience of order and meanings which is at the very edge of the intelligence and the senses, a complex interaction which is the new and dramatic form."
An interactive sculpture which interprets magnetically stored data found on credit cards and translates it to a brief melody.
If you can call it a melody, since it is more a series of alternating soft and shrill avian shrieks, but the almost human personification of a machine of a machine (if you can call a credit card an apparatus) is interesting and what I’d call part of the New Aesthetic.
